ROLE: EXECUTIVE CREATIVE DIRECTOR


It all started in 2005, when the first Mentos and Soda video was uploaded on the internet. From there, this experiment exploded into an internet phenomenon and became one of the most iconic user-generated trends ever. For nearly two decades, people kept dropping Mentos in soda. And kept making content with it.



Every mentos-and-soda video turned into promo codes to unlock an exclusive weapon in Fortnite.


The insight


Our mission was to launch a Mentos-and-Soda-powered weapon in Fortnite. But suddenly we realized: the campaign was already done. People have been creating content for us for the past 20 years. So, we used it all.


The Idea

We turned every Mentos-and-Soda video URL into a promo code to unlock the weapon in Fortnite. Each valid code, no matter how old the video, unlocked the weapon and revealed its location on the map. On the campaign's website, users submitted the URL and an AI-powered system analyzed each submission in real-time, scanning major video platforms for key terms to validate the code. If the video matched, it unlocked the new Fortnite weapon and revealed its location on the map.
